Sara is a sophomore at Purdue University, where she is majoring in Biomedical Health Sciences with a double minor in Human Development and Family Science and Sociology, and a certificate in Medical Humanities. She is interested in researching how development impacts childhood, how it can lead to medical problems later in life, and the impact a good childhood has on life. This will be Sara's second undergraduate research experience, and she is excited to learn how to design a lab and create a survey. She has previous experience coding an interview. Sara is a member of the Delta Iota chapter of Gamma Phi Beta, is an HHS mentor within the College of Health and Human Sciences, and a Big Brother Big Sister chapter at Purdue. Through her work with Big Brother Big Sister, she enjoys seeing how a smile can change the trajectory of someone's day.In her spare time, you may find Sara cuddling with her dogs, going to the beach or skiing (depending on the season), or enjoying a good book in her reading nook. She is excited for the opportunity to be part of SHINE and cannot wait to contribute to the future!
