Undergraduate Research Assistants
SHINE Lab RAs have opportunities to learn to read empirical articles, conduct literature reviews, code observational data, manage data, lead and collaborate on research projects, participate in lab meetings, and engage in other activities and projects. RAs can earn academic credit by registering for HDFS 390 or PSY 390. One academic credit is three hours of lab work per week. We typically ask RAs to commit 9 hours per week (i.e., three credits) for at least two semesters.

Prior experience working with infants and children and conducting research related to the lab (e.g., early social-emotional development, family relationships, early childhood mental health) are factors Dr. MacNeill looks for when reviewing applications for PhD students.
